La Posada de Santa Fe Wedding

My (Michelle’s) parents own a home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which we visited often, so the town had grown to have a special place in our hearts. We knew we wanted a destination wedding because we wanted a full weekend with all our guests to really get to spend quality time with everyone. We invited all guests to the rehearsal dinner, which was hosted at my parent’s home and featured a live jazz band. We also treated all our guests to a city tour with Loretto Line Tours, Santa Fe’s oldest tour company. Our favorite unique touch was a surprise mariachi band that surprise came out after we kissed at our ceremony and led all our wedding guests dancing through the streets of downtown Santa Fe. I wore the Nicole Spose dress for the ceremony and the Monique Lhuillier for the reception since the Nicole Spose dress was too heavy and too wide to dance in at the reception. I also wore the Monique Lhuillier for the photos prior to the ceremony so that Dan would not see me in my main wedding dress until I walked down the aisle. Special surprises during the ceremony included had painted maracas placed on each seat, seating arrangements with individual antique keys, engraved wine glasses and custom M&Ms with photos of us as gifts, light-up shoes for the bridesmaids and groomsmen for the dancing portion of the night, and we also wrote our own vows. We went with an elegant, modern theme, which featured large white floral arrangements throughout the ceremony and reception.

Unique Wedding Features: Mariachi parade through the streets of downtown Santa Fe following the ceremony, two wedding dresses (Monique Lhuillier and Nicole Spose from Panache Bridal in Beverly Hills), hand-painted maracas, rehearsal dinner with all 150 guests the night before the wedding at lavish Santa Fe estate with spectacular views and live jazz band.
