“Janelle and Oscar celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary by renewing their wedding vows in a true winter wonderland. They chose Spray Lakes (near Canmore, Alberta, Canada) for it's majestic mountain views and snow-covered lake. With the sun on their shoulders and the mountains towering behind them, they affirmed the promises they made 5 years earlier. It really was a "goose bump" kind of moment.
I surprised Janelle and Oscar with a winter picnic on the shores of the lake, and filled a basket with tasty morsels. If you're a fan of the movie It's a Wonderful Life, you'll remember George's housewarming toast: ‘Bread, that this house may never know hunger. Salt, that life may always have flavor. And wine, that joy and prosperity may reign forever.'
What a brilliant toast for a marriage! Oscar and Janelle nibbled on bread and cheese and sipped mulled wine on the shores of Spray Lakes.”

“Our love story began in the Andes. We met and were married in La Paz, Bolivia, 5 years ago. It was very symbolic to be able to renew our vows in the mountains (the Canadian Rockies) near our new home in Calgary.
From the Groom
“Getting to renew my vows with Janelle in the mountains was a marvelous experience. It wasn't just about wearing a very nice tuxedo, it was also about seeing my wife in that wedding dress looking so beautiful. We were able to relive the moment when we decided to join our lives forever. This time, we were surrounded by beautiful scenery. It couldn't have been more magical.”

“As a thrifty alternative to the raw silk ribbons that are so popular these days, Janelle and I found the perfect piece of Bamboo Velvet in the remnant section of a local fabric store. I measured out the required widths and then tore the velvet into strips. The remnant was 54" in width but to provide added length for wrapping the bridal bouquet, I stitched two or three strips together. With a sharp pair of scissors I was able to trim up the loose threads. We were so pleased with the raw and imperfect look!”
