Jem + Silas
When I first met Jem and Silas, I knew they were the exact type of couple we wanted to work with! During their engagement session, we saw the genuine, kind, adventurous and loving spirit they both possessed. This couple planned, from the beginning, to get married in a mountainous setting (which we absolutely adore). On August 28th, we made the trip up the winding switchback roads to El Porvenir which sits in the heart of the mountains. Jem brought a bright yellow umbrella as an ode to one of her favorite shows (How I Met Your Mother), which she ended up needing as it started to rain. The couple shared a first look and private vows under a gazebo before their guests arrived. They didn’t mind the rain and even embraced it as they snuggled under their yellow umbrella together during portrait pictures. Right as the ceremony began, the clouds parted and the rain stopped just in time for their beautiful outdoor ceremony. Jem and Silas made wooden puzzle pieces in place of a unity candle and even planned for extra pieces to be added for their future family. After they tied the knot, everyone celebrated with lawn games and a romantic tent reception. Guests signed a Bible and marked their favorite verses for the couple as a guest book. I can truly say that our entire experience alongside Jem and Silas was that of joy and excitement! After editing their last wedding photo, I felt a moment of sadness knowing it marked the end of this journey with them. We are so honored to have documented the beginning of Mr. and Mrs. Eggleton!
