Idaho Elopement
I was contacted by Hanna and Chase back in January, they wanted to plan an intimate elopement somewhere around Sandpoint Idaho (all the way from Chicago) with just Chase’s uncle as the officiant, a witness and their dog, Heidi. It was scheduled to be on my birthday, and I instantly said yes…because what could be better than hiking around the Idaho mountains watching two people start their forever together on one’s birthday?
I met with them the morning of their wedding to-do couples photos and location scout with them to find the perfect spot to say “I Do”. We decided to scour all over Schweitzer mountain until we found the best spot that overlooked Lake Ponderay. I then met them at they’re VRBO later that evening to snag detail shots and hang out for a minute before we all to the trek back up the mountain to the spot we’d found earlier that day.
They got ready at the back of their car, remembered the dog bone for their dog daughter, Heidi, and we set off for a sunset intimate ceremony overlooking Lake Ponderay. I cried, of course, as these two vowed “Fuck Yes” when asked if they’d take the other to be theirs for the rest of their life. And other than me almost forgetting my camera back behind on the side of the mountain (whoops) the day was entirely perfect. They ended at the pub house that’s at the bottom of the mountain, Pucci’s Pub, for a couple of celebratory drinks.
The day was incredibly simple, Chase already owned his suit and their rings came from a Chicago local jeweler, and flowers just put together for $15 by the bride. The day was just about these two getting married.
