Every year after thanksgiving my family cuts down our Christmas tree at our family cabin in Cascade, Idaho. Tim had asked me what my perfect proposal would be earlier in relationship and I always said I wanted my family to be there; They are what is most important in my life. So we made the trip up to my Cabin with my family. I completely had no idea! He actually made me believe that I wasn’t going to get proposed to anytime soon.
We often go to dinner at a local pizza shop in the town of cascade. Tim and my dad slipped away to go to the grocery store to pick up some things for the weekend. My sister and mom took us back to the cabin! To my surprise as we drove up the driveway, a little past dark, the entire front of our cabin was covered in lights. Standing at the end of the stairs was Tim. My youngest sister was playing “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Twenty One Pilots on her keyboard, a band we both love. He was holding roses and I was already crying, because I couldn’t believe this was happening. Both of our families, his parents and mine, were standing on either side watching, videoing, and taking pictures.
He walked me up the stairs (it’s mostly a blur because of how happy I was), got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. Without skipping a beat I said yes! He picked me up and hugged me, whispering “that isn’t all of the surprise.” He put me down and spun me around to my best friend from childhood, Rachel, running up to hug me! Rachel lives in LA where she’s going to school and I hadn’t see her for a year or so at that time. Tim flew Rachel, my best friend, here to Idaho! I fell to the floor crying and shortly after, my other closet friends came out from hiding and hugged me as well! Tim brought together the most important people in my life, the ones I love and cherish the most! I am forever grateful for him and his effort to make me the happiest girl that day! I couldn’t ask for a better fiancé or proposal!
