How did you meet: The first time I saw Alex was in eighth grade at a track meet. Our schools were rivals (Hobbs Eagles-mine v. Carlsbad Cavemen-his) He had just smoked a guy from my school and my crush on him started then! We ended up hanging out as friends and kept in touch throughout junior high and high school. After college we reconnected and continued our friendship, being there for one another through ups and downs! We ended up connecting and hanging out for July 4th weekend in 2016 and that's when sparks flew! We started dating and got engaged not too long after.
How did he propose: Alex and I both love and cherish our families, so the way he proposed could not have been more perfect or special! On the weekend my sister was graduating from physician assistant school, all of my family was coming to town so I was so focused on that and her day. Little did I know, with my sister's permission and blessing, Alex planned his proposal for the night before her graduation, so that my WHOLE family would be there. He gathered everyone at a restaurant called Los Vaqueros in the Fort Worth Stockyards, and when we walked in, I was surprised to see my entire family as well as his there! That's when he took my hand and popped the question! 🙂
VIsion: With both of us being from New Mexico, I wanted to celebrate the beautiful mountain/desert landscape, the cactus and the culture! I knew as soon as we went to Tamaya that it was the perfect place for us to get married! I wanted to have an overall bohemian vibe and include turquoise as well as other bright colors. I was also inspired by cacti, and included them alot of different elements throughout the wedding (invitations, wedding programs, centerpieces, dessert cookies).I love the way everything turned out!
