From the Designer, Michelle of Brindle + Oak: Our inspiration came from a beautiful detail in the Honeymoon Cottage on Milston Well Farm. While renovating the space the owners found newspapers under three layers of flooring when they were restoring the original hardwood floors from 1905. The newspapers were perfectly pressed and preserved! They were from 1939 and 1940. The newspapers were then used to wallpaper an accent wall of the cottage. The weathered newspaper became our inspiration! Neutral colors combined with bold greens gave this winter elopement an upscale farm feel. The bride cuddled up in the Honeymoon cottage while the groom was pampered in his 'man-cave' airstream. An intimate dinner table was set with simplicity. Combining unique paper details and vintage yet modern elements brought the look together. Wood accents added warmth to the intimate dinner. The couple read hand-lettered vows as they said their I-Dos. As the bride and groom moved around the farm they were greeted by Gladys, the resident Donkey, with a floral necklace!
