Guide to Hosting a Wedding Weekend in Snowmass Colorado

If you are in the ski or snowboarding community, chances are you’ve heard of Snowmass, Colorado. But beyond the slopes, the village of Snowmass is a perfect all-in-one location for hosting a wedding weekend, no matter the season.

Expansive vistas, luxury lodges, and endless opportunities for outdoor activities are just a few of the perks of the mountain town, which sits at a whopping 8,209 feet above sea level.

The year-round population of Snowmass is just over 3,000 residents, making it the perfect small-town mountain getaway with big-city amenities.

Here is everything you need to know when planning your wedding weekend in Snowmass:

How to Get There

Although a small and remote town in the Rocky Mountains, there are numerous ways to access the village:

Fly: The easiest way to get to Snowmass is to fly into Aspen/Pitkin County Airport, which is a short 10-minute drive to the village. Although a small airport, they offer direct flights from major cities such as Denver, Chicago, San Fransisco, and Atlanta.

Drive: Snowmass is roughly 3.5 hours from Denver and 4.5 hours from Colorado Springs. In the summer, the drive is typically straightforward without much weather. However, guests should always prepare extra time if driving from Denver or Colorado Springs to attend your wedding weekend. The main freeway, I-70, experiences heavy traffic on the weekends, which causes slowdowns & delays in traffic. In the winter, the snow and ice can cause hazardous conditions on the route, so extra time is always key.

Shuttle: Roaring Fork Express offers a direct shuttle service from Denver International Airport to Snowmass. Better yet, they specifically offer wedding & event shuttle services for guests! The best way to inquire about event shuttle service is to call 970-486-3002 or 800-822-4844
