Sophia + Israel
A lot of wedding plans have had to change thanks to the global pandemic, but alas, love always wins. Sophia + Israel are a prime example of not letting the ever-changing world get in the way of their love. They ditched their original wedding plans and instead hosted an elopement in the foothills of Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by family and celebrating their love.
Our wedding was nothing like we expected but totally perfect for who we are. You think of your dream wedding and think fancy venues, scrumptious food and all your friends and family partying the night away. We had an abrupt change of plans with COVID-19 but it was incredible how everything fell into place perfectly for the day. We found a location two days before in a beautiful green area that provided a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and Utah changed its laws literally the DAY of our wedding so we were allowed to have immediate family and a couple friends. Sophia’s family zoomed in from England at 1am their time, all dressed in wedding clothes and fancy hats. We stripped away all the fluff of a traditional wedding and had our loved ones and a small picnic in a place filled with beauty. We honestly felt like it was symbolic of our relationship – we don’t need a lot besides each other and this beautiful world. We shared written letters to each other during the ceremony in which Israel’s dad performed it. We each shed a tear and our hearts were filled with pure love. The evening ended with a golden sunset and we just basked in the happiness we’d just felt. This place will now always hold a sacred place in our hearts.
