Wyoming Real Wedding

The Couple

Matt + Helene

Matt + Helene met in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which makes their Grand Teton National Park wedding that much sweeter. Peter Lobozzo Photography captured their lovely day in the prettiest light with stunning views of the Tetons. We’re drooling over the beautifully crafted pizza by In Season Wood Fired Pizza!

Love Story

Matt and I met in Jackson Hole, Wyoming over the 4th of July in 2015. I was living in New York City at the time and visiting a friend in Jackson. On the eve of July 4th, at The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar (the kitschy western bar in town), while purchasing one too many Gin + Tonics, Matt dropped his money clip and his credit cards went flying all over the floor of the crowded bar. I bent down to pick up his cards, not yet knowing who they belonged to, and locked eyes with the handsome owner. I discovered the mystery man was named Matt, he was an architect living in Bozeman, Montana, and he was visiting Jackson to run a race and climb the Tetons because those were his favorite mountains.

We spent the weekend exploring Jackson, and I had that gut feeling that I’d found my person…but I had to head back to New York and he to Montana. He flew out to visit me in NYC about a month after our serendipitous meeting. Later I found out he had sold his beloved pickup truck in order to afford that first trip.

The Tetons hold special meaning for us and we knew that we had to get married in Teton National Park. Naturally COVID-19 threw us a loop, but we ultimately decided to move forward with a smaller wedding with some tweaks to make sure it was safe for everyone. We had our dream wedding on August 8th in Grand Teton National Park followed by an outdoor reception at Trail Creek Ranch in Wilson, WY. We had about 40 guests, and with the help of wonderful vendors, we were able to pull off a safe, intimate, and special celebration. My advice to couples questioning whether to postpone or go through their wedding during these times…do what is best for you, but rest assured it is completely possible to throw a safe and special celebration during these times.
