Roop + Randeep
Randeep and I first met in law school, when we were just 21 years old. I was a year ahead of him and one of his frosh week leaders. We began talking during frosh and throughout the school year. He even acted like he didn’t understand criminal law, so I helped him the night before his exam, despite him being a straight A student. He was always the most thoughtful, and sent me a candy gram with a hand written note on valentines day, while also taking me out on our first date that evening. Our love story continued to be written in Italy, during what was the most magical summer of my life. We completed a summer exchange program in Florence and travelled across Europe together. We officially began dating at the very end of our trip, where Randeep asked me to be his girlfriend over some iced americanos at Cafe Zurich in Barcelona. It was at that moment that I knew Randeep was my forever.
The Proposal
A few years later, one Friday evening, Randeep tried to convince me that we were meeting a friend at our law school for coffee. Little did I know, the day before he went to my parents’ home, asking them for their blessings to propose to me. As soon as I reached the front entrance of our school, it was just Randeep and I (and a photographer in the bushes). He got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. It was the most perfect crisp fall evening, bringing back so many memories and so much excitement for the two of us!
The Engagement Session
We are both born, raised and have lived in Toronto our entire lives. Despite it being our favorite city in the world, we don’t have mountains in Toronto! So, when we were visiting Alberta for a friend’s wedding, we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do a photo shoot (especially since I LOVE photos). Despite traveling 33 hours straight from a work trip in Africa to Edmonton, and then attending our friend’s wedding and then driving to Banff the next day, Randeep, true to his nature, was still on board for my plan!
