Nate and I are both from Virginia but we now live in Raleigh, NC. We met in college two weeks before I was supposed to graduate. Nate swears it was love at first sight and he knew he had to meet me the minute he saw her. After dating for almost 5 years, we got engaged in Airlie Gardens in Wilmington, NC. We both love the outdoors and enjoy activities like hiking and fly fishing. We have both always dreamed of going to Montana and so when it came time to choose a wedding venue, Glacier National Park was the first place that came to mind. The breathtaking scenery and overall atmosphere makes it such a special place on earth. We couldn’t think of a better place to elope. Our submission is unique because we both flew all the way across the country from North Carolina to Montana to elope in the Rocky Mountains. We wanted an unforgettable day in a gorgeous place with an intimate ceremony that was just about the two of us.
My favorite memory from the day was when we read our vows. We both wrote our own vows the night before and getting to express our love for one another was an unforgettable moment.
Nate said his favorite memory was watching me walk down the “aisle” and being so happy to see me because he felt like he hadn’t seen me in forever.

My advice for brides planning now would be to follow you heart and do exactly what YOU want. Don’t let anyone else influence your decisions about your day. Make it special for you and your future husband. Spend money on things that are important to you but don’t waste money on things just because you feel like you should. Have flowers, or don’t. Have programs, or don’t. Have someone do your makeup or do it yourself. Just remember to take time to focus on the two of you and remember that the most important memories from that day are the time you spent together.
