Lizzie + Rocky
When you wish upon a star,
makes no difference who you are.
Any wish your heart desires,
will come to you.
If your heart is in your dream,
no request is too extreme.
When you wish upon a star,
your dreams come true.”
Lizzie loves Disney. As the mother of the bride concluded her speech while wearing Minnie Mouse ears and by singing these verses, tears flooded the eyes of all in the room, including some of the vendors.
The guest count, which was originally set for 120, significantly dropped to 14 because of COVID-19. The couple went back and forth on whether or not to elope and/or change the date, but the ultimate decision to host a wedding that included parents, siblings and a few close friends came to fruition on their original wedding date, June 20, 2020. Lizzie and Rocky could not wait. They did not want to wait. They desired to be each other’s king and queen. Lizzie exclaimed, “This is exactly what we wanted! It was perfect.”
And it was just that, perfect. The vendors were all willing and able to accommodate the changes. The weather, although it was raining for most of the morning, held out during the ceremony and reception. The cloud coverage offered quintessential lighting that photographers crave and that made Lizzie’s Disney princess dress look even more like a dream. Guests who were unable to attend in person had the ability to view live stream footage of the ceremony. The tablescape, with its use of sweet sorbet tones and pops of rose gold, complimented Lizzie’s fairy tale vision for the day. The food, beverage and cake were worthy of being served in a castle. And the dances, as well as the speeches, brought about the same warm and fuzzy emotions experienced while watching a Disney movie with a happily ever after ending.
“May you always love each other for who each of you truly are–like Beauty and the Beast.
May you always be best friends–like Mowgli, Baloo, and Bagera.
As you both look at the starry Montana night sky–may the force always be with you.
May your home always be your magical castle and may your fireworks always be in the sky and not at each other.
May you always stay young at heart–like Peter Pan.
May you both cook like Ratatouille.
May you have a house full of wonderful pets–but perhaps not as many as 101 Dalmatians!
May Rocky’s kiss always be magical for you like Sleeping Beauty.
Elizabeth, you will always honor your family like Mulan.
May your adventures always be wild and fun like Lilo and Stitch.
And may your BFF’s always have your back like in Holes!
And NEVER stop wishing on a star – because the two of you are proof that dreams really do come true…”
