Hotel Boulderado has always been an inclusive place of gathering since our opening New Year’s Eve party on December 31, 1908. As the first luxury hotel in Boulder, Colorado, people came from near and far to experience our cantilevered grand cherry wood staircase, original mosaic tiled floor, and our famous stained-glass ceiling.
Our wedding story began on May 17, 1911, when Lee Woods & Leila Leonard unknowingly started a tradition that would last over 100 years. As the first couple to be married at Hotel Boulderado, Leila and Lee began their new lives together by descending the hotel’s Grand Staircase, followed by an unforgettable celebration on the beautiful mezzanine. Since then, Hotel Boulderado has been a part of hundreds of love stories!

For your reception, choose between our Historic Mezzanine or our elegant Event Center. Our Mezzanine is a great option for people who want to have their reception in the Historic Wing of the hotel. The Mezzanine is underneath our stained-glass ceiling and overlooks our lobby and staircase. It’s a great location to take in the vintage charm of the hotel. The Mezzanine can accommodate up to 120 guests for a reception. The Event Center, on the other hand, includes a large ballroom with warm chandeliers and wall sconces for lighting. This space also includes a foyer and private courtyard for cocktail hour. The Event Center can accommodate up to 240 guests for a reception. These reception locations are very different from each other, giving couples great variety at the same location.
