The concept of the shoot was to create an indoor enchanted garden in The Bengal Room situated in the centre of Victoria at The Fairmont Empress Hotel, which was our Enchanted Fortress. In this intimate space, I enclosed the couple and their guests in a sea of candles which amplified the romantic ambiance and created a very ethereal setting. In addition to the sea of lights, we brought in greenery to balance out the wood texture to make it more earthy. And lastly, the addition of the gold accents encapsulated everyone in a luxurious experience of love and marriage.
The bride wore a gorgeous Justin Alexander silk ballgown with a key-hole back, button detailing, pockets and a beautiful train. Her hair was adorned with a beautiful headband to match from The Brides’s Closet. Their wedding bands were provided by Harling’s Jewellers who is a top Vancouver jeweller that carries exquisite jewels fit for any king and queen. The groom donned attire from The Bay, which included the Sondergaard Copenhagen Tuxedo.
The wood paneling and the green marble in The Bengal Room provided a beautiful backdrop which needed very little enhancements to bring the forest to life. Working with a collaborative team of vendors – florals, makeup, cake design and decor, we transformed the space which boasts amazing bay windows that showcase Victoria’s beauty into an enchanted garden within an enchanted fortress. It was and is a perfect backdrop for an intimate wedding celebration for a couple.
This shoot was a modern love story set in a backdrop of enchantment and exceptional royalty.
