The Couple

Chad + Fero

Chad and Fero met at a resort in Playa Del Carmen while Chad was taking the time off from being a hairstylist and Fero was working on a photoshoot for a marketing campaign. Music has always been part of their relationship. They met at the “disco” in the hotel where they were staying at, Fero came up to Chad first and started the conversation that didn’t end, and with the music blasting, their love dance started. Chad is from Vancouver and Fero is from Mexico City. They kept in contact even though there was 4000km between them.

Fero decided to buy a ticket on Chad’s birthday in 2018 and come visit two weeks later, this is when they started dating. Five days of easy talking, kind words, and comfort started a connection that couldn’t be stopped by the distance, and that’s when then they fell for each other dancing to Electric Love by Børns. Chad had a breakdown after Fero left and had to see him again, so Chad booked a ticket for Mexico City for January of 2019.

They both never thought that they would end up in a long distance relationship but Chad’s wanderlust and Fero’s honest heart led them to date in Acapulco, New York, San Diego, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, Puerto Vallarta, while attending concerts and festivals like Coachella and Corona Capital. Their relationship has a soundtrack, Chad asked for Fero’s hand on stage with the help of artists Sofi Tukker on October 4th, 2019 in Vancouver, where they promised to be each other’s “Best Friend” forever. Then got separated by borders closing in March 2020 due to COVID-19 after a birthday celebration for Fero in Puerto Vallarta.

Eight months apart, tears, FaceTime, paperwork, shared playlists and tons of love finally got them together on November 13th 2020. The first week of January was a whirlwind of emotions with Fero’s parents contracting the COVID- 19 Virus, then getting their first apartment together in Vancouver, and saying “I Do” to a lifetime together in beautiful Stanley Park on January 9th, 2021. Now two and a half years after meeting, a strong understanding of the connection they have built and getting through the time apart, they had the pleasure of being able to get married. With just the two of them, and the two witnesses, listening to the song “For Forever” by Ben Platt was perfect for their beautifully built relationship. They started their relationship dancing. Their relationship is music, and music will always be there.
