Kayla + Sean
Kayla and her mom had plans to go to her favourite bakery in the city, Duchess. On their way, Kayla started to wonder why her mom was taking such a round-about-way to the bakery. Her mom parked the car outside and told her to go inside, she needs to drop something off for her sister outside of the university bookstore. Kayla sees her sister standing next to the tables where she first met Sean in 2009 and her sister hands her an envelope with the first clue. Each clue to follow takes Kayla on an adventure around the city to a series of landmarks of her and Sean’s favourite places. Until she reaches the spot where her and Sean went on their first date. Her dad is standing there, prepared to blindfold Kayla. Once blindfolded, Kayla’s mom and dad walk her through the park to where Sean is standing: a footbridge with white rose petals scattered about and a photographer in the distance, capturing the moment. Sean gets down on one knee, says all the right things, and of course Kayla says “yes!”
Kayla and Sean were planning a large, local celebration but the pandemic had other plans. After trying to postpone their large wedding, they decided to let go of the expectations of a large wedding and plan an intimate experience that was true to them and be able to travel somewhere new together. They decided to plan a destination elopement/wedcation in one of the most beautiful places in Canada on Vancouver Island! They travelled down with their immediate family members to spend time together exploring the island and to celebrate their elopement at the beautiful Sea Cider Farm & Cider House. So many beautiful details went into this elopement from a custom hand drawing of Sea Cider Farm & Cider House for their flat lay details with airy neutral toned blooms to compliment the beautiful island in March. They were the absolute sweetest couple to help plan and design their intimate elopement!
