Chelsea + Conor
Chelsea and Conor were passing through New Mexico for just a few days as they made their way from LA to their new home in Austin, Texas. They had just gotten engaged a few months before, and once they saw the unique beauty of New Mexico they thought it’d be the perfect place to take some engagement portraits. A mutual friend connected them with my business, and we made this shoot happen within 48 hours of first chatting! I met Chelsea and Conor at the first light of sunrise, in the gorgeous home they were staying at overlooking the Sangre de Cristo mountains. We started the day with coffee and Tame Impala playing as we snapped portraits around the property, paying special attention to areas with those classic New Mexico touches – an adobe wall, the piñon and juniper trees, and old wooden door at the entrance of the courtyard. Then, after an outfit change into a dressier look, we headed down to the Santa Fe Plaza. The southwest architecture, textures and colors of the plaza, along with the quiet emptiness of the early morning, made this the perfect next stop for our photos. I was so thankful to connect with Chelsea and Conor, and so glad the stars aligned so that I could capture their love story!
