Liz and Tucker’s wedding day took place on a gorgeous late summer day full of sunshine at C Lazy U Ranch in Granby, Colorado. After meeting in New York and moving to San Francisco, Tucker surprised Liz when he proposed with a trip to Paris! So of course when they were deciding on a venue for their wedding, this jet setting couple wanted to find the perfect place to celebrate their wedding. They wanted a place that would provide a fun and memorable vacation for their closest friends & family traveling from all over the country. Liz’s elegant style elevated the rustic atmosphere of the ranch. Hoping to blend big city sophistication with the intimate feeling of the peaceful Colorado countryside, she chose ivory for her bridesmaids and navy for the groomsmen. And, because C Lazy U is a working ranch, Liz wanted to also stay true to its roots and included boots for the entire bridal party and kept the decor for the reception simple to reflect the natural beauty of the ranch. The stunning floral design by Flora by Nora really complimented the colors at the ranch and the installation for the ceremony encircled the couple as they said their vows, but was designed to be low so that guests could enjoy the breathtaking views over the continental divide while witnessing the two commit their lives to each other. Liz wanted to work with creative partners designing in their true element, so when building her design team she made sure that she gave each vendor the creative freedom to bring their vision to life. Sarah Faulkner with Ever So Chic Events helped to pull the aesthetic together by understanding the strengths of each vendor and helping Liz incorporate details that would bridge each element of the event design. In true ranch fashion, they designed a “brand” with their initials which was printed in navy on everything from the handmade, torn-edge menus and custom welcome bags to the bathroom hand towels and escort cards. Guests spent the weekend enjoying horseback rides, fly fishing, and cowboy songs by the campfire. Everything about the long weekend was focused on creating memories with those they loved most. On their wedding day, the spirit was light and the love palpable. Three days of late August celebration culminated in the wedding reception and guests certainly brought their dancing shoes! Friends and family couldn’t get enough so the couple extended the band on the spot to keep the party going!
