Aggy + Tanner
When Tanner and Aggy first reached out to me, they were looking to plan an elopement in the Canmore area. Their dream was to have friends and family present for their ceremony and to spend their day hiking with friends up to a beautiful view of a lake. After discussing possible options for what that could entail, we decided to have their ceremony somewhere accessible by car and nearby the hike’s trailhead. Their day started with a ceremony at Driftwood Day Use Area in the Spray Lakes area outside of Canmore, Alberta. Tanner and Aggy’s friends set up a pre-built arch at the Day Use Area and from their, the wedding activities commenced! After a beautiful, albeit cold ceremony along Spray Lakes, Tanner, Aggy, and their friends packed up and changed into hiking gear. We travelled down the road and met up at the trailhead to their chosen hike and we started on our way up! After an hour of steep elevation, a snow storm started to blow in as we reached the top. The snow created a dreamy feel to the day, with the clouds teasing views of the lake and mountain range below. The excitement as the clouds cleared for the first time was amazing! Aggy and Tanner and their wedding party changed back into their wedding attire and we spent some time snapping photos of everyone. Once the group photos were done, their friends departed down the mountain and Tanner and Aggy alternated between taking photos and warming up with the hand warmers and emergency blanket they had packed along. The snow came and went, as did the sun, and we were all in awe of the beauty of the day. The newlyweds finished their time up top with a quick hot chocolate to warm up and an exchange of their handwritten vows.
