It started with a short plane ride to Santorini, we were visiting my family in Greece but since it was Kevin's first time in the country we decided to spend some alone time on the island.
When we got to our hotel room I was greeted with the sweetest surprise. Kevin had “I love you” written out in red rose petals across the bed. It was so perfect, we opened a bottle of wine and relaxed on the balcony looking out over the water together before starting to get ready for dinner. The Dinner reservation was at the “Athenian House” which is known for its stunning views of the sunset and its romantic atmosphere. We had the corner table overlooking the water, there was a bouquet of pink roses and petals scattered across the table.
The sun started setting as we were finishing up our meals, there was this beautiful combination of purple, pink and blue in the sky. Kevin excused himself to wash his hands while I stared out at the sunset. When he came back he asked me to stand up and handed me a bouquet of red roses, he got down on one knee and opened a black ring box.
Without any hesitation he said “would you marry me?” I was taken by surprise so I responded “of course – yes!!” Kevin put the ring on my finger and stood up while the restaurant clapped and cheered. It turns out the table next to us was celebrating their 10 year anniversary and the husband took a few photos of us. It was meant to be, perfect in every way.
