This beautiful shoot took place as the world was emerging from the COVID pandemic. In the spring of 2021 when our future was looking brighter and the hard days of quarantining, missing out on special celebrations and fearing the unknown started to have an end in sight. However, there were lessons, hobbies, and so much more learned during a global pandemic that I felt shouldn’t be forgotten as we move forward. The main takeaway is the lesson of slowing down and living more consciously. Taking time to bake bread, tend to a flower garden and read a good book in a beautiful place. The aesthetic that captures this is Cottagecore, which is the inspiration behind the design. The backdrop is the modern art gallery, Rembrandt Yard, in the heart of bustling Downtown Boulder, Colorado. Reminding us that even if you don’t find yourself in a countryside cottage, but tucked in a city you can surround yourself with this style that celebrates simple living. The floral designs by Plume & Furrow were innovative and captured you in a stunning space of fresh life and soft inviting colors. The floral chandelier transported you, and the floral wall can be admired for years. The details all revolved around traditional skills such as the stitch work name cards, potted plant seating assignments and honey jar favors from a backyard hive. The pandemic was hard. However, beauty did emerge from it when the world was forced to slow down. This shoot was designed to capture the good that came from a difficult time, and to look forward to the joy that comes from coming back together.
