For some couples, finding a perfect wedding venue can be the most stressful part of the planning process. Our experience was no different. After visiting nine other Colorado venues, I knew there had to be somewhere that fit our shared vision for our wedding. We desired something unique, away from the ski slopes and urban setting of Denver, that truly encompassed our vision of providing our guests with an authentic Colorado experience.
Dan and I love to fly fish, and every Labor Day we go fishing the South Platte River, nicknamed the “Dream Stream,” located just west of Lake George, Colorado. In our wedding venue research, we stumbled upon Wild Canyon Ranch located about one hour west of Colorado Springs, right on Lake George. When we walked the property of Wild Canyon Ranch, it didn’t take long for us to realize that this was exactly what we were looking for. It was love at first sight and everything we could have imagined for our “Rustic Elegant” theme!
We were lucky enough to work with some incredible vendors. Southern Charm nailed my vision of a refined-boho theme with classic details. From the small flower-filled amber vases on the tables to each floral bouquet and centerpieces to the gorgeous focal structure, Southern Charm far exceeded my expectations. Sara Corona Photography did an incredible job capturing the joy and excitement of our big day. Her detail shots are some of my favorites and reflect the unique and personal touches that Dan and I wanted to provide our guests.
Though it rained during our ceremony, we hardly noticed! It brought a bit of humor and laughter to our ceremony and, of course, the rain stopped and the sun came out the moment we said: “I Do.” It was magical. Dancing the night away under a string of lights outside the barn made for a perfect day and celebration.
