The Inspiration
I designed this editorial to answer the questions I always get during the design phase of the wedding planning process with my couples.
Can you mix metals and/or accent colors? Or does it look tacky? You will see that I mixed rose gold and gold cutlery on the tablescape design.
Can you mix round and rectangular tables in the layout? I decorated one round and one rectangular, as mixing two shapes helps break up the layout and add more dimension/space for additional decor.
Do all of the table linens need to be the same color? I almost did a monochromatic color scheme, the round linens are taupe velvet and the rectangular linens are pale pink velvet. Velvet is a trend I am seeing for 2021 couples!
What are some fun ways to greet the wedding guests when they arrive at their seats for the reception? To break the rule of getting cake after dinner, I added mini cakes on the table setting to bring an element of surprise to the guests as they take their seats for the reception!
How can we repurpose the ceremony floral at the reception? We repurposed the ceremony floral with the cake, on the sides of the rectangular reception table, and also created a photo op with candles and the floral arrangements around one round table.
Do all the table settings need to be the same? We added two different rainbow-shaped menus for the table settings.
Are there any other photo opportunities to take on our wedding day that aren’t necessarily in our venue? Yes! We took the bride outside to show couples to take advantage of the cityscape.
