The Inspiration

The inspiration for this shoot came from the realization that when couples first consider eloping, they tend to consider either a traditional wedding close to home, or an elopement in a new destination. But we wanted to prove that couples don’t have to choose. The river valley that we were set in has beautiful views of fall foliage in September, so our styling and decor reflected that and emphasized the natural jewel tones of the valley. We wanted the design to illustrate what a real elopement in this river valley could look like for a couple, complete with a table set, cake, and settings, as well as a styled archway to share your vows under. We aimed to work with vendors and local businesses in the Vermilion area who can help couples bring their river valley elopement come to life. Each vendor brought their unique talent and everything came together so beautifully!
