Chic Engagements at the Bonneville Salt Flats

Proposal Story

After finishing my first (and most stressful) board exam during medical school, Sagen and I went to Oahu, Hawaii to celebrate. We were staying at a beach-side cabin for military families, spending our time relaxing and enjoying the beach. After waking up one morning, we decided to have a cup of coffee on the porch overlooking the ocean. From what I remember, we weren’t talking about anything especially romantic or remarkable at the time. But then Sagen started saying some really nice, deep things about us and our relationship. I remember thinking, “Awww, Sagen is so sweet. I can’t believe how lucky I am.” The next thing I know, he is presenting me with a ring and asking me to marry him! It was perfect. I came to find out later he made the coffee using toilet paper as a filter because he couldn’t find any in the cabin. Personally, I think this only added to the experience.
