Charming Sixty Chapel Wedding Inspiration

Idaho Wedding Inspiration

Not every venue that is home to a classic red barn has to exude a persona of cowboy boots and burlap. Sixty Chapel, opening their doors as one of Idaho’s newest wedding venues for the 2019 wedding season, is nestled in the picturesque mountains of Garden Valley just 45 minutes outside of Boise – Idaho’s capital. Our vision for this styled shoot was inspired by the adventure of bringing together two seeming opposites – rustic countryside and timeless elegance.

Sixty Chapel is indeed home to a classic red barn. Fully renovated and ready for your entire wedding party to stay awhile, the main barn at Sixty Chapel includes a downstairs living space (perfect for an intimate rehearsal dinner), a full kitchen, and two bedrooms that sleep 8-10 people total, depending on how cozy you want to get. The property is also home to a variety of other lodging options, providing a truly unique experience for your guests. To top it all off, the quick 45-minute jaunt from Boise makes it entirely reasonable (daresay, easy) to work with vendors from the Boise area. Couples who choose Sixty Chapel will truly get the ambiance and immersion of a mountain wedding, without the expense and logistical challenges of a destination venue. Alex & Willy, alongside their two sweet daughters and Willy’s parents, Lynn and Bill Owens, are the family behind the magic. They have made it their mission to provide their couples with a wedding experience that far exceeds anything you could ever dream up.

The rustic charm runs deep at Sixty Chapel and our goal with this styled shoot was to pair that with a thorough sense of timeless elegance – something that never truly goes out of style. We meet plenty of brides who love the mountain scenery but may not be totally crazy about digging their feet in for a truly ‘rustic’ wedding. The vendors we partnered with took our inspiration from soft, subtle floral patterns with pops of bright raspberry color and helped us create an aesthetic that speaks to a classic, feminine bridal appeal. As we collaborated on everything from the table settings to the stationery design, we kept returning to our inspiration in the simple beauty of blush pink roses and crisp green-blue mountaintops.

Weather in Idaho is known for its fickle mind, particularly in the spring & summer months. Watching the weather forecast was nerve-wracking, to say the least, but as wedding professionals, we are used to adjusting on the fly – this styled shoot was no exception! Real couple, Madison & Rylee, were incredible. During the shoot, they embraced the gentle rain with some fun shots under the protection of a few “just in case” umbrellas. The smell of rain in the mountain air set the pace for the day and provided us with a truly unforgettable experience. We can only imagine how beautiful Sixty Chapel will be in the height of their first wedding season and we cannot wait to return!
