This styled elopement shoot was created with an emphasis on small town charm and the thought of experiencing a place like a local. One of the things I love most about living in the Whistler/Pemberton region of British Columbia is that there are so many talented small businesses and solopreneurs who are making their dreams a reality in this region. It was my intention with this shoot to showcase some of the incredibly talented people in this area and make it clear to couples that this is a truly special and unique place to say “I do”.
I think there is such a great opportunity in the Whistler/Pemberton region to help small businesses grow while also providing some excellent inspiration to couples who are looking to plan an elopement in the mountains. Beyond the desire to showcase the talents of the small businesses in the Pemberton area I also wanted to encourage the rising trend of the All Day Elopement. As time goes on and the pandemic continues I think there will be a lasting cultural shift toward small and more intimate wedding days and elopements. I for one believe that having an elopement does not detract from the experience of getting married, but rather creates an entirely new and more authentic experience all its own. When a couple is brave enough to shirk the norms of a traditional wedding day they open themselves up to a world of possibility where they are able to curate an entire day focused on them and what they enjoy doing together. That in turn creates the most relaxed, fun and positive environment to begin a marriage in.
