The Wedding
“Natalie and Sean are two high school sweethearts from Arizona who moved to Utah 2 years ago for all our outdoors have to offer, particularly on the skiing front. Their wedding was unique in that they rented out a vacation home in Wanship, Utah for the whole shindig. Many of their friends and family stayed in the home for the weekend and they definitely lived it up. One of my favorite parts of their wedding was the scenery. This house they rented was surrounded on all sides by stunning views. Natalie and Sean did things their way, through and through. From the rental home venue to having cocktail hour before the ceremony, their wedding was very intentional. Having them attend cocktail hour prior to the ceremony allowed them to enjoy the drinks and hors d’oeuvres, as well as more time with their valued guests. Being a more private couple, they opted to forego exchanging vows during the ceremony and instead exchanged their vows privately following the ceremony at a beautiful lookout. Even the photographer and videographer stayed far enough away to give them that time together. This allowed them to keep things between them as they wanted, and gave them a few quiet moments together to reflect and really soak in the love and joy of their relationship together on their wedding day. Perhaps my favorite thing they did for their wedding (and there are several things I loved about it) was the champagne tower! Traditional cake cutting has its place, but this ritual felt so “them” and was much more exciting than a cake cutting, especially with the tower unexpectedly falling mid-pour. To me, the champagne tower moment was the perfect encapsulation of a wedding day. It was beautiful, exciting, and somewhat uncontrollable- just like a wedding. We can plan and prepare and envision but on the day itself, things are going to happen that we did not expect or foresee. So all we can do is roll with what happens and make the most of it. Natalie and Sean did this splendidly.”
