Charming and Rustic I Do’s at High Country Tree Farm

British Columbia Real Wedding

These two athletes met in college, he played hockey and she played volleyball. Quickly becoming friends, they started dating once Shane had wrapped up his hockey season abroad. That thankfully led them to create this beautiful day! It rained liked I’ve never seen before on any other wedding day. The darkest, biggest, blackest clouds rolled over the barn while Dani was getting ready – thunder rolled. Stress was evident, but by the time the ceremony was to start, the sun shined. That was the theme for the rest of the day, it rained, it stopped, it poured and it stopped.  They wanted their wedding to be perfectly imperfect, that was how they described their theme to me and the team at Rustic Barns. It was all that and more – although I’d lean more on the perfect side.

The grand entrance of their wedding party was…THE BEST. Each couple had their own song, walk and routine. Dani and Shane waltzed into the room in style – they went right into their first dance song. The speeches were spot on, the best man cried more than the groom did throughout most the day. The love you could feel for them as individuals and as a couple was so incredible. I mean I love them and I’ve only had the pleasure of knowing them through chats/emails and meeting them a couple times before the wedding – so I get it. They wanted to read special vows to each other without anyone else around. An amazing sunset presented itself so we snuck out and had them read their vows silently. It was so amazing to document,  I cried without even reading the vows. We snapped some more amazing  sunset pictures of these two, and then I set them free to dance the night away!

Dani gives full credit to Karen at Rustic Wedding for creating the perfect day. Part of the reason why they chose to host the wedding at Rustic Wedding was because of the services they provide. They had an entire sea-can of furniture, rugs, decor pieces, signs and so much more to help decorate. They provided the tables, chairs and fun add-ons.
