About the Wedding
From the Photographer
“When Celynn was younger, she took a trip to the Banff Springs Hotel and immediately knew that it was the place she was going to get married one day. So, she had found the venue, but not the groom. Along came Collin many years later, in January of 2013. They've had quite the journey so far together, and after making long distance work for a year and a half, Collin proposed to Celynn with the most stunning ring during a surprise helicopter ride.
Fast forward one year to their wedding day. To me, it was so clear that they were a fantastic match for one another. I have seen few couples so in sync. On a Friday morning in August as I drove to the mountains, rain poured down on my windshield. I was disappointed, and just hoping for a miracle. Right before the ceremony, the clouds cleared, and they didn't return until we were safely back inside the hotel for the reception. As the storm made it's way back, slowly but surely, we had some fun doing shots with Celynn's cathedral length veil (it was so stunning!) and the wind picked it up at all the right moments. Some of my favorite shots are the candids of Celynn and Collin laughing as he tries to make his way out from under all that veil! Celynn designed the entire day on her own, with the help of friends and family, and I can truly say it was one of the most beautiful days I've ever experienced.”
