We can all agree we’ve had quite the year and a half, so we hear that 2022 is THE year for weddings and we are ecstatic for it! Rocky Mountain Bride is here to report all the trends and goods finds we saw while attending bridal market to give you the low down on all the trends that are going to be a major hit!

Customizable Dresses and Accessories

Ok first things first, we saw an explosion of bridal designers allowing their brides more options when it comes to their dress. Whether it’s taking a bodice and changing the skirt to detachable sleeves and overskirts that can take you from ceremony to reception. We are loving that brides have more of a say in what they want their dress to look like, from the fabric to all the nitty gritty details designers are embracing the uniqueness of each bride and their wants and needs when it comes to their dress.

Some examples of designers allowing total the bride total customization range from their sleeves, creating or closing slits, fabric and train selections. We adore this for many reasons, it makes the bride feel in control and special while also allowing them to make their dress theirs which is very helpful when thinking of the season, the venue, and style of the bride. Check out these brands for extra customizable options!

Over The Shoulder Straps

Straps that float over the shoulder have become very popular and if a strap doesn’t come on the dress most designers are happy to add it. Another nice thing about the straps that float over the shoulder designers have started to pay attention to the needs of brides because no bride wants to be restricted, so designers have added extra length in the straps so you can dance the night away.

Simple but Modern Fabrics

There’s nothing better than a fabric that is simple but stunning. Designers have decided to choose richer and thicker fabrics that have a slight sheen to them and detailed embroidery to them. Designers have also figured out different ways to make embroidery less old school and give it a newer modern look, we think it gives us major princess vibes. These are a few of our favorites from designers’ 2022 collections.

Modern Boho

Chantel Lauren has perfected dresses for the boho bride. In her new Into The Wind Collection, we’re talking fringe, bolo ties, and western inspired fabrics that are fit for the desert.

Billowing Long Sleeves

Another sleeve trend that we saw over and over but yet done in so many different ways. Designers are using different fabrics and different sewing techniques to create the perfect puffy sleeve that doesn’t read ball gown for your arms. They can be attached to the dress or detached for your wow ceremony moment and then removed to party it up at your reception.

Alternative Dresses

Not feeling the big white dress, or are you doing a courthouse wedding, eloping? 2022 is the year to step outside the traditional box. Think color, jumpsuits, pantsuits and short dresses. Check out some of our favorites from Chantel Lauren!
