Breathtaking Sonnenalp Hotel I Do’s

Vail Real Wedding

The Couple

Mackenzie + Justin

The Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, Colorado is known for it’s European-inspired decor, which makes this summer wedding feel like it took place in Swiss Alps. This wedding is near and dear to our hearts because Mackenzie was adamant in supporting small business owners and female entrepreneurs for the entirety of her wedding. Mackenzie + Justin’s wedding was such a stunning day – we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

From the get-go, we’ve loved planning alongside the special couple. Mackenzie envisioned her big day less as a traditional wedding but rather as a celebratory, personalized gathering for love – and an amazing dinner party. The result was everything and more.

Mackenzie made it clear from day one she wanted to support small business owners and female creative entrepreneurs in every avenue of her wedding. She navigated the planning process with complete trust and support and creative collaboration with her vendor team (aka the dream bride!).

She took intentional design risks and created an event that was reflective of her life with Justin (P

interest trending aside), and ended up curating a breathtaking wedding that far surpassed our initial inspiration. Nestled in the European-inspired Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, guests celebrated the newlyweds in the light-filled Ludwigs Restaurant with an eclectic tablescape –  mixes blue Moroccan and medallion plateware, copper charges, assorted goblets and bright florals created the perfect balance between unique, interesting and welcoming. Other highlights included cocktails served in disco ball tumblers, a Texas-inspired neon sign and the tarot card reception readings.

M+J’s big day was nothing shot of joyous and full of love. They were both completely present with each other and their guests – rolling with the inevitable punches that come with the wedding day and having a ball through it all! We wish them all the joy in the world and are so happy to share this wedding!

Justin and I met in the spring of 2015 and have been inseparable ever since. We both knew we wanted an intimate wedding where we could be around everyone we love and really be able to spend time with them all. Our families and friends are spread out across the United Staes, so we really do cherish our time together beyond measure. I remember explicitly stating from the beginning of the planning process that I didn’t want my wedding to feel like a wedding – that just isn’t us! We knew we wanted to have something that felt lighthearted and tons of fun; with champagne flowing and lots of delicious food. We wanted a location where our friends and family could make a vacation out of it, and it ended up being the weekend of our dreams. Personally, I can’t think of a better way to kick off married life than coming together with everyone you love and celebrating exactly who you are.
