We intended it to be a celebration of non-traditional, with an emphasis on personal style – the custom pantsuit, the minimal asymmetrical arch, the monochrome palette, the “undone” hair & handmade jewelry.
Katie (Mac’s Floral) & I are sisters. We don’t often work together, despite both being involved in the wedding industry. We wanted to create something beautiful, born out of simplicity – together. Not necessarily for a client, but for ourselves, because we both simply love what we do.
Each vendor involved is a female owned, Montana based small business. When I asked Morena (Fly Free Jewelry), she had this to say: “I’m really struck at how the bread + butter wine reminds me that lots of Montanans aren’t that fancy, but we like things that feel good. That’s the thing about these shots, they feel good. It also seems to convey that simple is strong, country doesn’t have to be kitschy, and with the right details, magic can happen anywhere. This shoot is a refreshing glimpse into using local resources to match & even surpass big city aesthetics. The end result isn’t cluttered nor is it an overwhelming sensory experience, but a warm comforting & simple setting. It feels modern and timeless in equal measure. While it doesn’t feel heavy handed in tradition, it is easy to see and feel where laughter and joy could fit in. It is a celebration of collaboration between members of our collective community that makes it exciting to investigate the stunning offerings of local female Montana businesses.”
