Shelby + Jordan
After being together for almost 9 years, we had some ideas in mind for our perfect day. We tossed around the idea of heading to Mexico and getting married on the beach, but ultimately, landed on Centennial, Wyoming. The Snowy Range has always held a special little place in our hearts. We have spent many weekends in Centennial together skiing, snowmobiling, and having a few beers at The Post. It is our “paradise”, and with Jordan’s family having a cabin up there, we could not think of a better location! 2020 has been a very interesting year for most people, but the day we called our friends to let them know we were engaged, we told them the exact date we were planning to get married, October 24th, and the 24 people that were at our wedding said, “let’s do it!” After that Sunday afternoon of calls, we knew we made the perfect decision to have a micro-wedding with our closest friends and immediate family. We had 3 months to plan out a wedding, and honestly, it could not have been any easier of an experience. We really enjoyed the whole process. From finding the exact dress, to planning the food menu, to finding the perfect DJ; it all went so smoothly! Being able to be creative and making it about us personally was so easy when we took on the fun task of planning it ourselves. Our best friend was our officiant, and we really strayed from the traditional vows. Having a friend perform the ceremony really ups the level of making it so personal, they know you, and know the funny little quirks about each of you. We added in some quotes from Nightmare Before Christmas, and we made sure to say “until death do us part” because we felt like it just added to the moodiness. Our goal was to not have a single hint of white in our wedding, besides for the dress, and we wanted to do some bold florals with some dark wood tones to give it that moody feel. We really could not have had a more perfect day with the perfect party to end it, if it were not for our friends, family, and vendors.
