Late September in Boise, Idaho is a gorgeous time of year, where everything is perfectly suspended between summer and fall. I really wanted to put together a shoot that would reflect this fleeting time between seasons, and the vendors I worked with so beautifully made this come to life. The shoot took place in the foothills surrounding Boise, just before sunset on a beautiful September day. The bride wore an incredible full ball gown and had natural makeup with warm red lips; the flowers were soft and romantic, with warm pinks and touches of orange and dried flowers, and the gold-bedecked cake tasted every bit as wonderful as it looked. None of these vendors had worked together before, and we put this together on a very, very short timeline. I had tried to keep my expectations very realistic because of this, but each person who contributed blew me away with what they did. And the clouds that looked like they might rain on us instead turned into a stunning sunset. It was more than I could have asked for!
My favorite photos of all are the ones with the sunset over the mountains at the end of the shoot, and my film lab, PhotoVision, shared a couple of these on their social media because they loved them as well. It was a gorgeous evening!
