Chelsea + Tanner
Chelsea & Tanner first met in the EMS room at the hospital while they were both working. It wasn’t exactly love at first sight, at least for Chelsea, but Tanner was persistent and after two years of sliding into her DM’s, she finally gave him a chance. For one of their first dates he took her to the river spot he grew up going to, and well, the rest is history. Time passed with more adventures under their belt until one day Tanner took her to the river spot again, only this time he got their dogs to sit down beside him while he knelt beside the river and popped the question. Fast forward to the following year and these two decided this was the spot they were going to tie the knot! When I asked Chelsea why they chose to plan their wedding the way they did, this was her response, “Basically we tried to do some sort of halfway compromise between eloping and having a full-on traditional wedding so we sat down and decided what the actual most important things to us were. Those things mainly being to limit our ceremony to our most important people for a couple of reasons – neither of us enjoys being the center of attention and it helped ease our nerves about the day in general, making it more of a casual ceremony rather than feeling like it’s a “performance” (idk if performance is a good way to explain it, but we just don’t like feeling as though the spotlight is on us if that makes sense). We’re both very casual carefree people so the less stress the better. We didn’t want to have to do more than necessary or be stressed over the little things that don’t actually matter. Doing our ceremony [the way we did] also allowed us to ease into our day, giving us time to actually be together and take it all in rather than having to do all the greeting and mingling with guests right after the ceremony. That and since our families all had plenty of time to see us prior to the ceremony, we didn’t have them distracting us from each other during or after the ceremony either.” Their wedding day truly was filled with the most beautiful styled elements, complimented by their surroundings and such a laid back and casual environment with all their closest loved ones. They started the morning at Chelsea’s parent’s house where the girls got ready and the boy’s met them so the couple could have their first look. After that, they all loaded onto a party bus which took us out to their special river spot in the mountains. We showed up and walked down a beautiful tree-covered lane into the woods where BLOOMdiggity and Lethbridge Event Rentals had set up an incredible space for the ceremony. While their family and the groomsmen enjoyed a last drink and got comfortable, the girls made their final touches before walking the rest of the way in. The background noise for their ceremony was the creek behind them and the birds in the trees. They wrote their own vows and said “I do” while their guests popped bio-degradable confetti and then we all walked over to the picnic table to eat sandwiches. After the photos with their family & wedding party, Chelsea, Tanner, and myself made our way to some of the most scenic and beautiful spots right around their ceremony site. They soaked in the mountain air and all the “we just got married” feels before we headed back to the party bus to meet up with their friends once again. It was the most perfect, simple, and sweet day in a place I’m sure will always be close to their hearts.
