From the bride, Jennifer: This wedding was DIY to the extreme. My mom, an expert florist, spent 4 days putting together all of the floral arrangements along with my aunts, cousins, sister as well as countless friends and neighbors. I hand crafted almost all of the signs as well as designed, printed and assembled all of the wedding invitations (including calligraphy!). Making this wedding happen was truly a labor of love from the moment my now-husband, Hector, proposed at a glacier lagoon in Iceland. We got married in a converted warehouse in a transitional Denver neighborhood on October 16, 2016. The day before our wedding, my paternal grandmother passed away so it was a very bittersweet celebration of love, joy and marriage. We also paid special tribute to my dad who passed away from cancer when I was 19 (there was an open red velvet chair at the ceremony for him). My brother was the officiant at our wedding and the bridal party was all family. My flower crown was "whipped together" from leftover flowers... my mom is amazing!
