While solo backpacking in the mountains near Vail, CO with my dog, Bailey, my future husband crossed my path. He too was alone, hiking up to the same alpine lake to camp for the night. Him being a talkative extrovert struck up conversation while we hiked the last mile together, discovering we were the only ones camping at the lake.
Two years later, Dylan proposed to me on the very same trail where we first met. The ring appropriately tied to Bailey’s collar. Thank goodness she didn’t run off!
We wanted our wedding to capture our outdoor adventurous love affair and we found ourselves drawn in by Ouray’s charm. While walking the town we wondered outload, “How awesome would it be to have jeeps take our guests up to a mountain basin for our ceremony?!” Well, that’s exactly what we did! With the help of Brandy, at Switzerland of America and her incredible crew of red Jeeps.
It snowed the day before our wedding leaving the mountains and golden aspens perfectly dusted with white. Giving the most incredible backdrop to our outdoor ceremony. A campfire was a last minute addition to keep our guests warm!
