After 2 1/2 years together, marriage had come up a time or two (or three). We were on the same page about marriage and what it means to us, but we weren’t in any rush to walk down the aisle. I wanted to buy a house while Dustin was more focused on getting married, so we compromised and bought a house before marriage.
Just a few short months after becoming homeowners, Dustin went to Kristen at Goldsmith Gallery Jewelers to pick out an engagement ring. We had a late Valentine’s Day trip to Deadwood, SD planned, so Dustin took advantage of the trip to propose to me. He called my mom to ask for her blessing, and with the go-ahead, he asked me to marry him at Mount Rushmore that weekend.
We chose Cooke City because Dustin spent so much time here while he was growing up. Cooke City has so many things to offer. We really wanted to include “the most scenic drive in America” in our engagement session! We also wanted to include the famous Pilot Point and Index Point in our pictures!
