Yani and Mary met in 2008 while working at a golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Whether it was love at first sight or just plain smitten, our love story officially began in November 2008. Our first date included rocking out to a 90’s cover band at a local bar in Long Beach, CA. After a few dates, it became evident that life would not be navigated solo. Our relationship has withstood years of long distance, challenges with opposite schedules and times where communication by phone is a past time. 9 years later on January 1, 2018, a proposal happened that included their Chocolate lab, Kalea, near Mary’s home at the cliffs in Palos Verdes Estates, CA. Now that the dreams of saying “I do” were going to become a reality, the sense of being completely overwhelmed began. One thing was for sure, Mary had always dreamt of a destination wedding that would be one with nature and have the ability to highlight Yani and Mary’s cultural background in a private setting, Planet Bluegrass in Lyons, Colorado was the perfect venue for Mary’s wants. Once meeting Carly with Milk Glass Productions, the dreams began to come alive from start to finish. The overwhelming feeling of wedding planning was past time. Carly had us rate the level of importance for our wedding and being foodies, our number 1 choice was food. 3 Tomatoes catered our wedding and highlighted our cultural backgrounds (Hawaiian and Thai) and favorites foods perfectly. Our second important vendor was photography. We are Matt and Jess, captured and portrayed our love of laughter and being surrounded by our close family and friends. Every photo that we have seen thus far has surpassed our wildest dreams and each detail of our day that Carly executed with her team is pictured. We will cherish these images forever. Our third important vendor that can make or break a wedding was our DJ. This is Chris Lewis was hands down the best DJ and made our first date come back alive with 90’s and early 2000’s music. Needless to say, everyone at our wedding was singing and dancing. Looking back on the day of our wedding, there is not one thing I would change. We were surrounded by our family and friends, ate good food and danced the night away. The best part is that our happily ever continues and our photos highlight it all.
