Inspiration Behind the Shoot

From the Photographer, Ashley Hawkes

For this shoot I dreamt a vision of creating a elegant yet very raw desert wedding that would be unique to Utah. One that incorporated orange tones found naturally among the red rock cliffs softened by the soft sage greens in the grasses around. I wanted to bring a hint of elegance to it with elements of copper and champagnes. My models contained a very exotic look that fit the style perfectly. With the desert being a place of sun I stepped out of my comfort zone and shot this shoot with a very sun kissed bright feeling to the imagery. We wanted to create the feeling of warmth, and spark your sense of taste with the sweet nectar of peaches and nectarines.

My inspiration for every shoot I do is to create a very natural look with vivid colors, natural light, and soft matte finishes. I love the mother nature and especially the sky, and how they vary each and every shoot just as my clients do. I work with my clients in what I call "gentle posing" and then let their moments take over. In almost every shoot I do the first and the last shots are always some of the best because we can connect to each other right away! My clients find their shoots to be very enjoyable and seem to ease any stress they may have had in the prior to.
