An Intimate Destination Wedding in the Snow

Colorado Wedding

The Couple

Sydni + Thomas

Love Story

“Thomas and I met on Navarre Beach. We were both on family vacations and our house was right next to each other. Truly as cliche as it sounds, it was love at first sight for both of us. He lived in Texas and I liven in Arkansas. Everything kind of aligned to where he could move to Arkansas for his job. He proposed a little over a year later in the hills of North Carolina. I had planned a photographer to get some cute photos of us on top of a mountain, but he had other plans. The photographer had me run towards her to snap some pictures and as I turned around Thomas was down on one knee. We were on the border of North Carolina and Tennessee with the sunset in the background and the man of my dreams on one knee. Talk about a WOW moment. Such a magical moment with now my forever man. Before we had gotten engaged, my dad passed away. The hardest time of my entire life. Thomas was there day in and day out helping me through that difficult time. I’m so glad my dad got to meet him and approve of him. That is something I will forever be grateful for. My dad’s favorite place in the entire world is Colorado. We live in Florida now and our family lives in Arkansas and Texas, so no matter what people would’ve had to travel. We both love Colorado and we thought what better way to also celebrate my dad and feel as though he was right there with us than to be in the state the longed to go on vacation to every year. He never got over the beauty that surrounds Colorado and that is something that was passed onto us is to see the beauty and nature and magnitude of the land it encompasses. On the day of our wedding it snowed 22 inches! It was May 22, 2022 and it snowed that much! We didn’t know if we would be able to have the wedding outside, but the snow let up and flurries fell and it was the most magical time. Nothing else mattered besides Thomas and I. If rain is good luck then snow must be extra good luck, right?! The day went off without a hitch. We had the best planner, the best food, photographer, DJ, and I know that my dad was right there with us throughout the whole day. I will never get over our wedding day and how I just want to relive that day over and over again no matter what “hiccups” came our way, it was perfect and those things in hindsight do not matter. Our biggest advice would be to take in the day, take a step back and really take it in. The day goes by so fast! Just enjoy it!”
