Josh and I met at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. At the time I was working there and Josh had to get a rental car while his was in the shop getting repairs. When Josh came to pick up the car, I helped him and we chatted a little bit (I thought he was very easy on the eyes but of course would never be the one to make any sort of moves haha). He apparently thought the same thing of me and told his friend that if I was there when he returned the car that he was going to ask me out on a date. Well, he did and the rest is history!
We got engaged at the top of the mountain in Jackson Hole, Wyoming! Jackson Hole has always been one of Josh’s favorite places for all its natural beauty. I had never been so we finally booked a trip to go skiing out there with my brother, sister in law, my cousin and her husband. The six of us rode the tram up to the top of the mountain during our day of skiing and as we were all checking out the beautiful view from over 10,000 feet, all of a sudden I realized Josh was down on one knee with a ring in his hand! After the proposal, we got to see Zac Brown Band in concert at the base of the mountain. It was an amazing day and we later chose Zac Brown Band, “Free” to be our first dance at the wedding.
Since Josh and I got engaged in the mountains, the most important thing for us was location….we knew we wanted to get married in the mountains with a beautiful mountainous backdrop. We wanted a fun destination that our guests would never forget! And with such a perfect backdrop, I wanted to keep things simple but still elegant.
I honestly think one of my favorite parts of the day was our “first look.” Obviously your wedding day is jam-packed, but the first look was really just an opportunity where Josh and I could take a step back from all the craziness of the day and just enjoy each other’s company and truly reflect on how special this day really is. It was such a special moment and truly one I’ll always look back on and cherish.
