British Columbia Inspiration
Inspired by capturing the last glimpses of summer, when you hold tight to the keepsakes of the season; like the long flaxen grass and the cozy sunsets. This was the intent in which Sarah of Sarah Nicole Photography and myself, Robyn of Alma Creative set out to capture.
In the rolling fields of Aldergrove Regional Park, nestled up to the long waving grass we set-up the low picnic-style sweetheart table from Woodpecker Tables, atop a loved vintage rug and surrounded by plush velvet pillows. Hand-crafted plates, vases and our favorite, the candlestick holders, in speckled eggshell from Anna Ceramics gave a rustic feel.
Keeping it casual, a bountiful harvest charcuterie board paired with blood orange cocktails in crystal highball glasses were served. Cuddling up with throw as the temperature dropped, the real-life couple, Kim Doiron and Jason Huber, shared a perfectly petite chocolate naked cake from Cake by Nicole.
A mix of dried and fresh florals in hues of vibrant tangerine, deep burgundy, and soft cotton pods was used by AJR Designs. Dried South African pampas grass stole the show in the old medicine bottles, pairing with the vintage books and cake stand from Bushing Vintage Rentals, giving the sweetheart table an alternative vibe.
Pairing a lacey effortless gown from Pure Magnolia with delicate straps showing off Kim's many free-spirited tattoos, styled with classic wool wide-brimmed hat with popping orange florals and variegated boxwood, a seasonal alternative to a flower crown. Rose Quartz Beauty kept Kim's makeup classic and elegant, with a half-up loose fishtail braid in her blue and blonde-toned hair.
With simple and classic vows done by calligraphy artist, Little Things by Kait, and sealing their promises to one another with stunning matching rose gold rings from Cavalier Gastown.
