We didn’t want to have a traditional wedding, we wanted to have a celebration that felt like it was our own. As soon as we got engaged I had this vision of wearing yellow, and after a google search and a few phone calls…myself, my mom, and my now mother and sister-in-law flew to Seattle to the Dress Theory for a Sarah Seven trunk show. Little did we know, Sarah herself was going to be the one helping me try on the gown! Once I had the dress, we had a vision of how we wanted to do things and it fell into place from there. We were engaged for a little over 18 months so we had lots of time to decide exactly what we wanted (and didn’t want) for our day. We decided against a bridal party, so on the day of the wedding we really just got to focus on ourselves and enjoy spending time with our parents and family before the craziness of the day. Having a fall wedding (and being self-proclaimed foodies) we knew we wanted to incorporate a harvest feel with our centrepieces and my bouquet, and of course, the ladies at Foxglove took what we wanted and made it into art. We had an amazing and unique venue that didn’t need much decoration, a catering team that took care of everything food and drink related, a lovely officiant, a kick-ass day-of-coordinator, and all of our friends and family. We had the best day, and almost a year later the memories of it all are still so vivid in our hearts.
