Adventurous Summer Wedding at the Promontory Club
May 22, 2020

Park City Real Wedding
Our wedding sought to highlight the gorgeous scenery and adventurous life we live in Park City, Utah. 170 of our 203 guests traveled to be with us on August 31, 2019 and to experience life in the mountains. Our venue,
Promontory Club, overlooks the Park City ridgeline (which is also the mountain outline on our invitation designed and printed by
Mandate Press) where we spend much of our time skiing and trail running with our dog, Merle. Our wedding party included our siblings, best friends, and in the absence of nieces for flower girls, our nephews acted as leaf boys and ring bearers. After the ceremony we loaded everyone on yellow school buses, an ode to my career in education, and took them to the Promontory Equestrian Center – a reception location that provided a blank slate for us to create the wedding of our dreams with the help of Kasey Plourde and her team at
Harvest Moon Events.
Travis is a talented woodworker in his spare time and made many of the personal touches including the arch (which he hand planed from wood gathered in the Uinta National Forest where we got engaged), coasters, table numbers, and signs used throughout the day. Abbey, an avid fly fisherman, designed and assembled the escort cards of calligraphed fish hanging by a fly. We brought the outside in with greenery hanging over the dance floor and ensured there was a party for everyone with an incredible band (
Changing Lanes Band), a scotch and cigar bar outside, and a kids area complete with coloring books and polaroid cameras.
