The good news is now there are numerous ways to find affordable, but still incredible, accommodations for your honeymoon. With Airbnb, local bed and breakfasts, and even camping (or glamping), you can find a nice, clean place to stay at a decent price. Luckily, the Rocky Mountain region is full of amazing, and beautiful Airbnbs for those planning a honeymoon on a budget. This may be the best route for couples looking for a great deal, but don’t necessarily need all the amenities of a luxury resort or hotel.

Ok, so you want to stay at a fancy hotel on a budget? You can! Check off-season rates or sign-up for email newsletters for specials throughout the year. Many hotels and resorts offer honeymoon packages, deals during slow periods, and more.
What’s great about many of the towns here in the Rockies are the local businesses. Looking for a souvenir or a special gift for your new spouse? Check out the shops in the local business district or historic town square. Tourist shops near or in National Parks often have price markups. Plus, we’re a sucker for supporting small, locally owned businesses!
If you’re truly looking to spend quality time as a newly married couple, opt to get creative for meals! Find local farmers’ markets or stop by the local grocery store to pick up some ingredients to cook with your sweetheart. Make a date night out of trying a new recipe, sipping on a glass of wine and enjoying some quality time together without the hustle and bustle of a restaurant or bar. Now we’re not saying to skip trying the local cuisine, but staying in can be a nice way to truly unwind after your wedding!
Another one of our favorite budget hacks is picking up a few snacks and sandwiches making essentials for eating while out on adventures! This also allows you to spend more time doing activities and less time browsing Yelp for a good place to chow down at.
This last idea is simple enough, but it requires a bit of leg work when it comes to researching places and things you hope to do. The good news is the Rocky Mountains are chock full of free outdoor activities for you to enjoy. Find a new hike to enjoy with your new spouse or explore the city you’re staying in. If there is an attraction or adventure you’re interested in, you most likely will be able to find discounted rates on Groupon or Airbnb. No matter the season, you’ll never run out of options for things to do!
