“I was never the little girl who had dreamed of a big traditional wedding. I have been to so many gorgeous celebrations full of love, but the one common trend I heard from all my friends is that, at the end of their wedding day, they didn’t feel like they got to fully take it in and enjoy their wedding for what it was. Cody and I knew we wanted something that felt entirely centered on what a wedding is really about: us choosing to commit to forever because of our love, and that it should be intentional and true to who we are. Eloping in Glacier National Park brought that vision to life in the most beautiful way. We shared a sunrise first look by Lake McDonald as the world was just beginning to wake up, and exchanged private thoughts and vows to each other in a field overlooking an expanse of mountains. We then later exchanged traditional vows at sunset with a small gathering of our closest 15 family members at Sun Point. I carried pearls from my grandmother’s wedding dress wrapped around my bouquet (which was expertly crafted with handpicked wildflowers from Two Kay’s- I asked for something unique and wild like the mountains we were surrounded by, and man, they delivered!) The entire day felt peaceful, emotional, and timeless, and standing there together, we knew we would never regret our decision to do it our way. Our wedding was everything we could have ever dreamed of- we had never felt more in love and at peace than we did standing the two of us surrounded by those giant Glaciers. We would do it over and over again if we could! “
