“Set in the heart of the Tom Miner Basin at Grizzly Creek Ranch, Merrit and Paul’s wedding was an intentional love letter to Montana, its landscapes, its stillness, and the way it invites you to slow down and be present. The two originally met at a friend’s wedding, gently set up by mutual friends who hoped sparks would fly. They did. Their engagement followed suit in true Montana fashion while backpacking through the Pioneer Mountains. After hiking to an alpine lake and spending the evening fly fishing as the sun began to set, Paul dropped to one knee on a tiny beach while Merrit was completely unsuspecting. When it came time to plan their wedding, the vision was clear from the start, with Montana as the focal point, elevated but untouched. A refined palette of white and champagne gold was layered with floral-forward design, organic textures, and thoughtful handmade details, including a custom seating chart and welcome signage. Guests gathered beneath a sweeping sailcloth tent surrounded by mountains, where dinner paused briefly as everyone watched a distant herd of elk and even a few grizzly bears move through the landscape, a moment that could only happen in this place. Many of the couple’s closest friends and family stayed on-site for the weekend, allowing the celebration to unfold naturally and without rush. While the design was undeniably beautiful, the heart of the day lived in the moments between, especially the speeches. Hearing words from nearly every family member and close friend was deeply important to Merrit and Paul and became one of the most meaningful parts of the evening. As the sun set and the mountains faded into shadow, the celebration transitioned into epic dancing under the stars, carrying on into the wee hours of the morning. The result was a tented wedding that felt both elevated and deeply personal, beautifully capturing their love for each other and for the place they call home.”
